Brief Explanation about Jalalabad City

Jalalabad ( جلال اباد ) is a city in eastern Afghanistan.
Jalalabad is also the capital of Nangarhar province.
Jalalabad is the largest city of east Afghanistan as well as its social and business center. Major industries include papermaking as well agricultural products including oranges, rice, and sugarcane.

The city is considered one of the most important cities of the Pashtun culture.
The city is dominated by pashtuns who make up 95% of the total population of Nangarhar province, followed by Tajiks with 3 % and the rest is Aimaks and Nuristanis.

Abdul Ghaffar Khan
and Amir Amanullah Khan, the great Pashtun leaders, are buried in the city of Jalalabad.

Poplulation: 200 000 ( Jalalabad city)
1 500 000 ( Nangarhar Province)

The governor of the province is Gul Agha Sherzai.
