The new Hong Kong office comes on the heels of Facebook offices in India and Singapore, which were set up last year.
The new office will support advertisers and its marketing staff in Hong Kong and Taiwan.Facebook’s sales team works with the world’s largest marketers and brands. More than 80 of the top 100 advertisers in the US advertise on Facebook. Currently, the sales team has offices in the US, Canada, Australia, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Sweden, and Singapore.
Facebook has more than 600 million users globally and is increasing sales and user numbers in emerging markets including Brazil, India and Russia, according to Bloom-berg.
Facebook's chief executive Mark Zukerberg made a stop here in China in December, where he met with leading Chinese internet companies, including search engine Baidu and e-commerce giant Alibaba.
